Julian W. Friedman
Julian has more than thirty years of experience in complex commercial
litigation and securities industry regulatory and administrative
investigations and proceedings. He regularly represents clients before
federal and state courts in New York and elsewhere, governmental
agencies (such as the SEC, the CFTC and state regulatory bodies) and
securities industry self-regulatory organizations (such as the New York
Stock Exchange, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the
Chicago Board Options Exchange, the American Stock Exchange and the
Philadelphia Stock Exchange).
His clients include securities
brokerage firms and their employees, public companies and their
officers and directors, professional firms and their members, privately
held corporations and their directors and officers, and individuals
engaged in commercial activities in various fields, including real
estate management, health care, and film and video production.
In
addition to the litigation matters in which he has represented such
clients as an advocate, Julian is also actively engaged as a
Court-appointed and party-selected mediator in a variety of matters.
His active service as a mediator in the United States District Courts
for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York is on a pro bono
basis.
Julian’s experience and professional reputation among his
colleagues have earned him an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell Law
Directory, the highest rating which Martindale publishes.
Julian
has been married for over thirty-five years to Ronnie Brahms Friedman,
who teaches French in New Jersey where they live. Julian and Ronnie
have a son, Andrew, who has been in the television news business since
his graduation from college.
